Jason Stewart’s $5 “KatScratch.co” promotional currency draft design takes a historic approach to KSU.

Stewart’s designed a “Kat Scratch” unit in a $5 bill featuring the bust of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. that s

Romine’s Kat Scratch design took a more playful and animated approach. Romine’s “Kat Scratch” unit is in a $1 bill and features a debonair grey feline, dressed in deep purple. Staff now affectionately call Romine’s animated Kat Scratch character, the Purple Panther.

Artist Heath Romine created a playful cartoon type character for our currency. We call this kat, “The Purple Panther.”
